Today I got this pop-up:
Gut wrench.
I wish I were kidding. I 1000% know lots of people are making way bigger sacrifices than stopping a #@$%ing Amazon Prime membership, but siiiiggghh… I mean,

Add in a Facebook group alerting me on dirt-low deals, encouraging me to buy 20 tiny (sorta useless) packets of Kinetic sand for my daughter to give away on Valentine’s (necessitating another purchase of clear heart boxes to PUT the sand into—as what monster gives sand with nothing to put it in?!)? Well that Amazon convenience is hard to kick.
Still wish I were kidding.
But for myriad reasons both personal and political (and absolutely none financial or life-bettering-for-me), Amazon’s gotta go. Amazon has more than 100% turnover rate; they think they’ll run out of people to exploit— I mean employ— soon. Bezos donated to left-leaning candidates, but stopped his newspaper from endorsing a president for the first time in 50 years, and within a weeks of the election. Suspect? Certainly. Amazon relies on the government to maintain a monopoly.
Always follow the money.
Saying nothing says something. Bezos is actively kissing the ring. That’s no one I want to support or be seen supporting.
I can do this, right? The first step to making society a better place is by being a better person myself. Choosing what’s right over what’s convenient. Sigh.
Please let me know how (or what!) you’re doing in the comments. I’ll keep you posted on my pity party. ;)
It's hard, but it's got to be done (bye convenience!). Thank you for the reminder.
I’m totally on board, and fighting somewhat successfully to get the fam on board. The convenience aspect reminds me of the saying “Hell Hath no wrath like that of a slightly inconvenienced middle-aged white guy.”
We can do this!!
